I've got the Block
I don't know if it's the weather or still getting used to Chicago and not having my "area" for writing set up yet, but not much writing is going on. Any suggestions?
On a different note, Jack Gilbert's "After Love" is in the new New Yorker. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Tend to your "area." ;-)
Yes, I know. First, I need to sell a bunch of stuff on ebay to make room. which I have been and making some good loot too. Now, if only ebay would give benefits I'd do it full-time.
Not an excuse. I have no such space either.
Charmi- you so nasty girl! Tend your area-is that what you call it?
Try craigslist too to sell stuff.
Get your library card, i bet chicago has plenty of libraries with quiet spaces.
I just checked out "Home Land" by Sam Lipsyte- this style of writing reminds me of you, I think you would really enjoy this book.
As for the block, I start reading. I'm reading a bunch of stuff right now.
Been to any Cubbies games lately?
I can't go anywhere public. I'm easily distracted, especially here. Plus, I'd start looking for books to check out.
Speaking of the Cubs, I'm going to the game this Saturday as a matter of fact.
See, Jesus, I didn't start it. Neil is the one who put quotes around his area, a place that quotes just shouldn't be.
But like Talia said, your area is no excuse. Get back to work. Or read. Or go on vacation.
Actually, I don't feel like writing, myself, at this very moment. I didn't feel like it yesterday, either. The day before I did, but it was crap.
Listen, I just wrote one from my couch, but I understand your need of a place. Which is why I don't want you to worry. I'll take good care of your old one.
